Delhi University Vice-Chancellor, PC Joshi has urged all the eligible members of the varsity to get vaccinated against COVID-19 amidst the spike in coronavirus cases. The Delhi University Vice-Chancellor has also urged all the people to follow COVID-19 guidelines strictly. In a video posted by Delhi University on Twitter on Thursday, he said that he would urge all the people, who are eligible, to kindly go to World University Services (W.U.S.) center in North Campus and get themselves vaccinated as soon as they can. He repeated again to strictly follow the COVID protocols because each and every life was precious.

On Thursday, the Delhi University Vice-Chancellor inaugurated the COVID vaccination center at WUS. The university members will be provided with the vaccination facilities by it. On March 10, PC Joshi had received his COVID-19 vaccine and had urged non-teaching staff, faculty members, and students to get vaccinated. Post his vaccination, Joshi had said that together, India will defeat COVID-19.

The central government rolled out the third phase of its vaccination drive from April 1 amidst a growing surge in COVID-19 cases across the country. From April 1, all above the age of 45 years are eligible for a vaccine shot.

On Monday, Delhi University had issued fresh COVID-19 guidelines for the conduct of classes. In the guidelines, it said that the teaching-learning for postgraduate and undergraduate students at all the affiliated colleges and the centers and departments of the university will continue online.

However, while strictly adhering to COVID-19 guidelines, the final year students and research scholars will be allowed inside campuses.

It has also been suggested by the University that works hours and 50 percent of staff to work from offices while the remaining 50% to work from their homes. The University said that the staff staying in the containment zone must inform and apply for suitable leave.

Delhi University imposed COVID-19 restrictions on April 3 in view of the rising coronavirus cases in the national capital.

Tentative dates for the UG semester examination have also been announced. From May 18 to June 6, the exams will be held.
