Educational institutions are closed due to the global pandemic Covid-19. Academic sessions are delayed by three to four months due to non-annual examination of schools and universities across the country. In such a situation, the Delhi University of Technology (DTU) has started awarding the degree on a year-long evaluation by ending the plan to pass or fail on the basis of the traditional annual examination under the new education policy. With this, DTU has become the first university in the country to award degrees by completing an academic session on time.
Till last year at DTU, the annual examination under the traditional examination method used to get marks based on the answers given by the student to the questions. Based on this, the result was prepared and the degree was obtained. Due to this examination method, students used to pass the exam by applying rote instead of understanding the subject. This did not give the student a full understanding of the subject. Due to the overall development of the students, the university has taken the initiative to prepare the results from the year-long evaluation.
ACADEMIC SESSION 2021-22 NOT TO BEGIN UNTIL SEPTEMBER
80 percent rating:
80% assessment will be done through year-long project work, innovation, research, etc. Based on this, they will be awarded marks or grades in the final degree. Apart from this, only 20 percent of questions will be asked in the final exam.
Development based on the thinking and skill of the students rather than the ratta
Under the new education policy, the scheme of studies with students has been abolished. Engineering students have to develop their skills on the basis of project work, research, innovation so that they can diagnose any problem. Also can open their company in a startup with employment. In the annual examination, they were evaluated from the first three hours of examination, which gave them pass or spread marks or grades. But now the evaluation will continue throughout the year. This will enhance the talent of the student correctly.
