DU Hindu College will extend its library, and boys’ hostel as well as add a faculty block. In a concerted motivation to elevate current infrastructure,college officials said on Thursday. The previous year, the college upgraded several of its buildings, containing two auditoriums, an amphitheater, a research center, and a multimedia lab, they said.

The bulk of the projects are being funded by college alumni as well as philanthropic contributions. The library building is being extended to four stories with trendy facilities, principal Anju Srivastava told. The growth work is anticipated to be achieved by July in the year 2023. “Further infrastructure upgradation projects comprise a library multiplication. Until now, the building was two-storeyed, but now it is being extended to four floors with modern facilities such as ACs, elevators, expansive reading spaces, and online entry points,” said Srivastava. The library development work, promoted by DU Hindu College alumnus Rajesh Mehra, Founding Director, Jaguar Industries. It was commenced on 5 February in the year 2022 and is slated to get finished by July in the year 2023.

Early, there were two floors of 895 sq meters each. Two more floors have been put into the existing system and the finishing job is going on, the principal said. Upon its realization, the library will put up 350 students. It will have a digital resources center to permit available. E-resources with more than 30 computers, a lift, relaxed reading areas, and RFID benefits.

The principal enlightened us that a two-storied structure for the faculty with departmental rooms and a bigger staff room space is also arriving. There will soon be a massive development of the boy’s hostel to house nearly 500 additional college students. We’ll be adding two stories as well as evolving the rest as part of the development project. The 25-acre campus homes lecture theatres, classrooms, laboratories, a library, a research center, playing areas, a sports pavilion, a seminar hall, two auditoriums, computer rooms, a cafeteria, and halls of residence.
