KYS alleged on Interview Criteria for St Stephen College Admission

KYS members alleged, “There is the very obvious reason to conduct interviews for St Stephen College admission that it only wants to give admission to elite students. After the interview, only elite students are selected to maintain the elitism of college. Accordingly, students belonging to unprivileged classes face denial. They grant admission only to conserve the privilege of particular clans and classes.”

Additionally, KYS said, “This criterion to run a college is absolutely pathetic. And, it contrasts the struggles of great people such as Jyotiba Phule and Savitribai Phule. These historic struggles were based on removing privileges in education.” Besides, the students demand to start the evening batch in college.
