National Testing Agency (NTA) has recently issued a state-wise list of distribution of centers and candidates for the JEE entrance exam. The JEE entrance exam is scheduled to be held from 1st to 6th September.
Owing to the coronavirus situation, NTA has assured that over 99% of JEE Main candidates have got their first preference of center. The NTA has also increased the number of examination centers from 570 to 660.
This year the testing authority has also increased the number of shifts from 8 to 12 while the number of candidates in a shift has been curtailed from 1.32 lakh to 85,000.

Over 8.58 lakh aspirants registered themselves for JEE Main
From across the country, over 8.58 lakh students have registered for JEE Main 2020. To adhere to the social distancing norms, there has been a significant boost in the number of exam centers. In order to assure proper safety and social distancing inside the centers, an alternate seating arrangement will be followed.
The exit and entry points of JEE Main, aspirants have been leaned outside the examination hall. Reasonable arrangements have been initiated outside the JEE Main exam centers to facilitate aspirants’ stand with sufficient social distancing.

All the candidates have subsequently been issued guidelines about DO’s nad Don’ts for following proper social distancing.
NTA has further written to the governments of various states to expand assistance in the provincial movements of the aspirants so that they can reach the exam hall on time.
Exam halls to be sanitized before every shift
The seating area in the exam halls will be completely sanitized before the commencement of each shift in the exam center. The keyboard, monitor, mouse, chair, desk, staircase, four handles, webcam, life button, etc will be sanitized and disinfectant will be sprayed.
The authorities will ensure that there will be sufficient space between the two seats in the exam center.

Hand sanitizers will be made available on all the entry and exit points and at several other places for center staff and candidates to use.
Also, barcode readers have been installed at every entry point to scan the barcodes given on the JEE Main admit card. The candidates will be informed about their respected lab numbers where the barcode scanners will be installed. Candidates will be required to retain a gap of at least 6 feet at the center during the entire duration of the process.
