The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT BHU) scientists have concluded among the top 2% scientists in the world. Moreover, 19 scientists of BHU from various fields have also been named in the list.

14 scientists from the organization have concluded among the top 2% scientists, as per the IIT-BHU spokesperson, in the world database developed by a team of 3 scientists directed by Dr. John PA Ioannidis of Stanford University, California, USA.

The study is disseminated in the journal Public Library of Science (PLoS) Biology. Stanford University has placed 1,500 scientists on the list of engineers and doctors in the country. The study consist of the name of 14 professors of IIT-BHU, chosen based on their research paper’s international evaluation.

The selected scientists include Prof Pralaya Maiti, Prof Rajiv Prakash, dean (research and development), Prof Dhananjay Pandey from School of Material Science & Technology, Prof PC Pandey from Chemistry department, Prof Yogesh Chandra Sharma, Prof Brahmeshwar Mishra, Dr. MS Muthu from Pharmaceutical Engineering and Technology, Prof Sanjay Singh, Prof SK Singh, Prof Devendra Kumar from Ceramic Engineering, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Singh from Physics, Prof Subir Das from Mathematical Sciences, Dr. Zahra Sarkar from Mechanical Department and Prof Pramod Kumar Jain congratulated all the teachers on this achievement.
