On Thursday at a pre Convocation press conference, IIT Delhi announced that they are planning to set up a campus abroad, the institution. IIT Delhi is celebrating its silver jubilee this year and will conduct an online convocation on 7 November.

IIT-D director V Ramgopal Rao said that the institute was in introductory discussions to begin an IIT campus outside India. Though, he refused to comment further.
However, the volume of Ph.D. scholars graduating fell from 331 previous years to 298 this year.
Rao said Covid- 19 has influenced graduation rates as we have shifted to online classes. All Ph.D. viva voice exams are conducted online. But some students were unable to complete their research work because the labs were closed for the past six months.
The institute said in its official statement that despite the challenges of the current epidemic, also 943 students were hired through the Office of Career.
