The effect of pollution is now visible in the colleges of Delhi University. Earlier, concerns were being expressed only about school children, but now the college administration has also become alert. Three colleges of DU have made classes online. Other colleges are waiting for the notification to be issued by the university administration.

Notification for online classes has been issued for students by Zakir Hussain College Morning and Hansraj College of Delhi University. It has been said in the notification that classes will be held online from November 8 to November 14. After that further decisions will be taken considering the situation. Whereas in Shyama Prasad Mukherjee College, classes will be conducted online till 15th November.

Teachers have also been given the option to come to college or take classes from home. Anmol, a student of Zakir Hussain College, said that the AQI level continues to be at a dangerous level. The students were having trouble getting out. Some students had complained of cold.

Demand to make decisions in the interest of students due to pollution

An official of the student union said that we were demanding from the college authorities that because of the pollution, a decision should be taken in the interest of the students. A professor at Hansraj College said – The level of pollution has increased significantly. Now there is no problem in running online classes, hence the decision has been taken. If the pollution levels remain the same till November 14 or the situation worsens, the classes will be postponed.

Colleges should make decisions at their level: Prof. Rajni Abbi DU’s Proctor Prof. Rajni Abbi said that colleges can make decisions at their level. The university has not given any thought to running these classes online. However, if the situation worsens after Diwali then running the classes on online mode will be considered.

An official of Ramjas College said- They are running offline classes. No order has been received from DU. No decision has been taken from our side on this. The decision will be taken only after DU issues a notification. The principal of Kirori Mal College, Prof. Dinesh Khattar said that they will make decisions regarding classes only when any notification is issued by the university administration.
