The University Grants Commission (UGC) designed the course BVoc program from the Delhi University according to the National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) of the Ministry of Skill Development. It aims to promote and emphasize skill learning. The National Skills Development Corporation provided consultation in designing the program.
It provides a Bachelor of Vocation degree to the students. This higher education course is skill-based and provides multiple entries and exit points.
The motive is to grant skills related to a particular profession. It will be accompanied by general education of that profession. The syllabus is designed in a way that the students are ready to work at every exit point. They will be trained according to industry requirements and the employability of the students will increase multifold.
It is a three-year course that will have six semesters. The students are given to option to exit the program in the 2nd or 4th semester. After the completion of the 2nd semester, the student will get a diploma and upon exit in the 4th semester, an advanced diploma will be awarded. After successful completion of the three-year course, a degree in BVoc will be granted to the student.
The curriculum of the BVoc program from Delhi University includes both General Education Components (GEC) and Skill Enhancement Components (SEC). It is designed carefully by keeping the ratio of 40:60 which represents GEC and SEC intact.
The total credits of the BVoc program from Delhi University are 180. It is divided among six semesters with 30 credits to each one.
The students can register for the course in online mode. There is a common portal for admission in vocational courses. These courses are provided by different colleges affiliated with the Delhi University.
Three colleges offer the BVoc program. They are Jesus and Mary College (JMC), Ramanujan College, and Kalindi College. Vocational courses offered by these colleges are:

- BVoc Software Development – Ramanujan College
- BVoc Banking Operations – Ramanujan College
- BVoc Retail Management and IT – Jesus and Mary College
- BVoc Health Care Management – Jesus and Mary College
The students are selected on a merit basis. The colleges release their cut-off percentage and the ones fulfilling it can enter the course. The minimum eligibility criteria are to pass the 12th standard examination with at least 50 % or any other equivalent examination recognized by the University of Delhi.
This is a full-time course whose total fees range from Rs 47,000 to 75,000.
