NO PROPOSAL TO RELAX UGC NET EXAM FOR LECTURERSHIP

In response to a written question in the Rajya Sabha, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Minister Nishank has said that there is no proposal to give exemption from the UGC-NET exam for lectures.

The University Grants Commission (UGC) has indicated that currently there is no proposal to exempt the UGC NET for lecturer posts. The Ministry of Education rejected any such proposal that exempted the UGC-NET exam for lecturers in private colleges with the government.

Apart from this, Nishank had informed the dates of the National Aptitude Test (NET) to be held in May for the eligibility of Assistant Professor on 2 February itself.

Pokhriyal had tweeted, Two, three, four, five, six, seven, 10, 11, 12, 14, 17, National Research Agency (NTA) Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor for eligibility for UGC-NET exam, Will held on May 2021. Further, he wishes good luck to all the candidates.

The notification of the examination was issued by the NTA, an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education. Questions will be in computer-based examination (CBT) format only. March 2 is the last date to apply for the examination.
