Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Madras, and Walmart Global Tech have signed a memorandum of understanding together. They have made a tie-up to enhance research and brush skills in the modern era of technology in India.
As the institute and global business are in partnership now, both the associates and students will work on the projects together. Walmart Tech Global would also provide a training program to the students of IIT Madras. The training program would help students to gain advanced knowledge of technology in the retail and e-commerce sector.

Professor Mahesh Panchagnula is the Dean of IIT Madras. He said that Walmart would also use the research park of the institute. It will prepare a broad ecosystem. Moreover, other start-ups would also get this opportunity of working with Walmart.

The partners would also initiate CSR activities. Students and research faculty will receive scholarships and fellowships as well. On the other hand, Walmart would also sponsor events and many other activities of IIT Madras.

Suresh Kumar is the Global CTO and CDO of Walmart. He said that the company is tech-powered. Many Indian associates are leading the business and retail disruption. The associates would help in digital innovation and focus on strengthening the education ecosystem of the nation.
