Four women have been declared elected members of the unopposed council in the Delhi University Academic Council. According to the notification issued by the university, five applications came from the women’s quota to the academic council, out of which one application was rejected (canceled), all four women were declared elected members of the unopposed council. Similarly, five applications were received in four quota of DU departments, in which also all the four teachers have been declared elected unopposed due to the rejection of the candidate form.
After the nomination process in the election of Executive Council (EC) and Vidya Parishad (AC), the apex body of Delhi University, Dr. Asha Rani, candidate of Delhi Teachers Association (DTA), was elected unopposed in Delhi University Academic Council.
This is DTA’s first victory in the Delhi University Academic Council. The DTA owes this victory to the solidarity of all executive members and the organization.
DTA in-charge Professor Hansraj Suman has stated that “22 candidates have remained in the fray in Vidya Parishad (AC) after the withdrawal of nominations on Wednesday, February 12.”
At the same time, only one candidate applied in the professional quota, so he has been declared elected unopposed. There is an election for 26 members in the Vidya Parishad, in which there will be a tough fight between 17 members due to 9 members being elected unopposed. No candidate withdrew his name in EC, so there are 5 candidates left in EC.
After a DTA candidate was declared elected unopposed in the Academic Council, now two of his candidates are in the Executive Council (EC), Dr. Narendra Kumar Pandey, Associate Professor, Sunil Kumar in Ramlal Anand College and Vidya Parishad (AC), Assistant Professor Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (evening).
After getting the ballot number from the university, the candidates will now appeal to the teachers in colleges and university departments to vote.
