Central Government provides a National Means-cum-merit scholarship scheme, I.e. the EWS exam to the students who are in class 8th and belongs to the EWS category.
The exam for all the students belonging to the weaker section would take place on 28th February. Students who will be successful would get Rs.1,000 per month for four years.
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR EWS EXAM
However, those whose parental income is less than 1.5 lakh per annum are eligible to appear for this exam. On the other hand, those students who study in Government, Government-aided, or municipal schools can apply for this test.
MINIMUM MARKS FOR EWS EXAM
However, they should have a minimum of 55 percent marks in their class 7th exams. An official said that this EWS scholarship would be yearly in class 9th and it will renew in class 10th, 11th, and 12th. So, the Scholarship is Rs.12,000 per Annum.
SCHOLARSHIP WITH OTHER CATEGORIES
EWS scholarship is 15 percent of SC category, 7.5 percent of ST category, 4 percent of person with disabilities category, and 27 percent of OBC category.
Students have to appear for 2 papers. Each paper will include 90 questions in which students have to score 40 percent marks on an average.
