G2O VALEDICTORY MEET

Delhi University Culture Committee has hosted the Group 20 (G20) Valedictory Meet on December 27, 2023. The event was organized at the council hall at Vice Regal Lodge. Yogesh Singh, vice-chancellor (VC) of DU, chaired the meeting. He claimed that through the G-20, India had introduced the globe to the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. He also praised the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi for turning government programs into events of the common man.

DU’S PARTICIPATION IN G20 SUMMIT

DU has also participated in and organized some activities. The cultural council has shortlisted 18 nodal centers with 15 colleges and three departments. Every nodal center was assigned one from the G20 countries. The University organized a series of cultural-cum-academic activities. These activities took place from August to November 2023, as part of the Summit. During the meeting, a film was shown. The film was based on G-20 events that were held in different departments and colleges. Singh also released the information bulletin of the cultural council.

DU COLLEGES RICH IN CULTURE

According to Prof. Yogesh Singh, these activities allowed the students to learn about the cultures of various nations.” Through these events, we came to know that human behavior is almost the same all over the world”, “Singh added. Anoop Lather, chairperson of the steering committee of DU Culture Council gave the welcome speech.“Through these events, we got an opportunity to know that DU and its colleges are very rich culturally. There are many hidden wonderful talents among the students of our colleges,” he said. He also added that all the institution-organized events in their unique way.

THE VOTE OF THANKS

The vote of thanks was given by Ravinder Kumar, the dean of the culture council, to wrap up the program. The vice-chancellor also presented awards to faculty members and heads of departments or principals who were involved in the G-20 events. The VC expressed its congratulations to all the attendees for these successful events.
