DU Admission 2022: University of Delhi (UoD) offers a total of 70,000 seats in its Undergraduate courses or programs, but this year it is unsuccessful to fill all the seats. Nearly 65,000 UG seats have been filled and the remaining seats are vacant.

Further, 31 December 2022 was the last day of the Delhi University admission process for the academic session 2022-23. In other words, no merit list or spot admission round will be conducted for both UG or PG courses. Moreover, around 11,300 students are admitted to postgraduate courses/ programs.

On Saturday, the University’s Dean of Admission, Haneet Gandhi said, “University has been able to fill nearly 65,000 seats across 70 DU colleges. This is the first time that admission for UG courses is conducted through Common University Entrance Test or CUET. Earlier, admission used to take place based on 12th-class marks.

Clearly, around 7 percent of seats remain vacant in various DU colleges. Seats are mostly vacant in off-campus colleges. Though, the university has conducted various spot rounds for DU admission in 2022. Also, it gives admission to 20 percent of ‘extra students’ under the ‘unreserved’ and ‘Other Backward Classes’ categories and 30 % in the SC/ST category in order to fill as many as several seats of UG courses during the first counseling round 2022.

Besides, this year’s admission was conducted in three phases. The first phase and second phases began on 12 September and 26 September respectively. During the third phase, a merit list was released to allocate seats. Many rounds were conducted to give a chance to every student.
