Due to Covid-19, the admission process at Delhi University was completely online this time. Initially, where the admission process was completely online, there were fears that this time the admission applications would be less, while at the end of the admission process, there were records applications in undergraduate courses.
5,63,670 students applied for the academic session 2020-21 for about 70 thousand seats of undergraduate courses in DU Which is a record in itself, so many applications have never been done before. Of these, 3,54,004 students confirmed their registration by depositing application fees.
More than three and a half lakh students filled admission
In this way, more than three and a half lakh students participated in the admission race for about 70 thousand graduate seats. That is, five students were claimed on one seat. Among them also, there were about 5000 students, whose best four was 100 percent. Due to the record application, the cutoff of DU was also high and the first cutoff reached 100 percent.
Involved in-home sitting orientation
There is a different enthusiasm among the students for studying in DU and joining the orientation program. On the first day, students see their college, meet new friends. But due to the closure of the college, orientation programs were also conducted in online mode. In such a situation, the students attended the orientation program right from home. Even though the excitement of coming to college and attending the orientation was not there among the students, but still it became memorable for the students.
The medium of class became online
Due to COVID, the online class replaced the classroom. While the new teaching method became an option to continue studying at home, it was not easy for the teachers to implement it. Connecting students with network problems and lack of resources is no less a challenge for teachers.
