The Open Book Examination to be conducted by the University of Delhi for the final semester students. A large number of teachers, staff, and students are infected with Corona, therefore, the challenge before DU is how to conduct an online open-book examination. In such a situation, the Dean of Colleges Prof. Balram Pani told that due to the serious situation, the open book examination can be postponed.
However, he also said that we are also considering the aspect that we can conduct separate examinations for students who have to enroll abroad and they need exam results in time. DU a senior official said that this is a difficult and challenging time.
Certainly, it will be difficult to conduct the examination, but from now on the parents’ mail and phone calls are coming that their son has to enroll in any foreign institution or anywhere else, so the result of the examination is required by July. There is also the question of the future of the students.
It is to be known that more than 500 teachers are ill in DU and many teachers have died due to corona infection.
Meanwhile, the DU teachers organization and student organization have demanded that the DU administration immediately postpone the exam.
According to the information received, 14 employees in the DU examination department are corona infected, and many employees whose family members are corona infected. In addition, teachers at every college in DU are coronas infected and many teachers have died.
Not only this, but their relatives are also corona infected. In such a situation, there is difficulty in making question papers in front of those teachers.
Convenor of the teacher’s organization Indian National Teachers Congress in DU, Dr. Pankaj Garg says that the DU administration should seriously consider how the examination can be postponed. The exam is scheduled to take place from May 15 and experts are talking about the Corona reaching its peak at this time. Most teachers and students are under mental depression due to corona.
The problem before them is that they should prepare for the examination to be conducted by DU to look after their family or themselves. It is also known that many teachers are suffering from corona and DU has sent them to make a question paper.
