BTech at Delhi University: University of Delhi is all set to introduce BTech programs in the upcoming academic session. University has decided on the capacity of 360 students in three engineering courses. Also, the students have to appear for the JEE Mains to get admission into Delhi University.

Further, according to the varsity officials, the Faculty of Technology will introduce the three courses- BTech Computer Science and Engineering, BTech Electronics and Communication Engineering, and BTech Electrical Engineering.

As per the official, the Ministry of Education approved the proposal in April month and allows the creation of 72 teaching and 48 non-teaching posts. The committee was made in 2021 to introduce such new courses and hold several meetings.  

The official said that in the last two years, the committee conducted various meetings regarding the introduction of engineering courses. The Btech at DU admissions will take place through Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains).

Moreover, this proposal has been submitted to the Union Ministry of Education for the construction of physical infrastructure for the Faculty of Technology. And, the committee requested the DU Vice Chancellor to take decisions on physical infrastructure matters to run these new programs. 

BTech at Delhi University | Each Course Includes 120 Students

According to the panel, the total number of students for the three new programs will be 360. So, each course will comprise 120 students. Further, the BTech program is designed in a way that a minimum of 50% and a maximum of 65% weightage will go to the major subject respectively. And, remaining weightage will be given to the minor subject area of the program. 

Additionally, the students will be provided with the multiple exit option as per the NEP. Therefore, the students who complete a year of the program will earn the credit and certificate. And, students who will complete two years will get credit plus a diploma.

Similarly, students who will do three years of study will earn advanced diplomas and credits. Lastly, students will earn the BTech degree if they complete the four years of study.
