The first cut-off list had really shaked many students and shattered their hopes to land in their dream colleges of Delhi University.

A student scored commendable 94% in Class XII and is yet unlikely to make it to any reputable college in Delhi University. She is looking forward to pursue Politicql Science (H) and regrets not taking admission in St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. She said that the cut-offs were not only high but also declared late this year. Thus, she is left with no good choice as admissions are almost over in moat of the famous colleges. Either students have to settle for a mediocre college or skip an year.

Many other students did have any back up  plan for admission in the colleges and are inclined towards skipping a year. The high cut-offs especially in the commerce and humanities subjects have kicked the aspirations and the vision of the aspirants of the DU.

Last year, 95% was an optimum score to land in a good college in Pol.Sci.(H) course but the cut-off of 2019 has increased the margin by 2% which lead to much tougher chance for students.

Many students claimed that this year the DU list came after the engineering and medical results and thus they were expecting a slight dip in the cut-offs but Hindu and Hansraj college set the ceiling far high.

Adarsh Maurya scored 93.25% in class XII and wants to pursue English(H). But the 1st list is a big blow to his ambition of becoming a writer. Being so doubtful to be able to get into a good college or not, he says if not got his core college, he will skip the year.

For now, Students should be hopeful towards the 2nd and 3rd list to get admission in a good college in DU and should be happy for their good performance in class XII.
