Every corner of India is covered with one startup or the other now. So, to motivate such entrepreneurs and fund them for their initiatives, IIM Udaipur has made a decision. Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur will now fund direct to consumer startups. It will fund startups only of their alumni. In such a manner, entrepreneurs will get investments with the encouragement of stepping ahead in the industries. IIM will also provide mentorship sessions and extension of the network to the entrepreneurs.

The founders of all the start-ups will get a strong base to expand their product portfolio. It will not only strengthen operations but also expand its presence across different cities in India.

So, industry experts from different sectors having great industry experience will interact with the entrepreneurs. They will help them focus on their products and services and build ventures.

Janat Shah is the director of IIM-Udaipur. He said that the institute remarks the alumni as a “crucial pillar”. It considers their success, important for its journey. So, the first start-up to get funds is a curry pastes brand made with ghee. Two postgraduates of the institute, Richa Sharma and Nischal Kandula launched it. The CEO of Incubation Centre, Kannan Soundararajan said the foundation of this start-up was about the institute.

On the other hand, IIM Udaipur set up the Incubation Centre under the guidance of the Union government’s Department of Science & Technology. It promotes innovations and entrepreneurship ideas. The center also provide laboratory facilities to develop co-working space where industry and investor connects.
