JNU campus reopen: The Jawaharlal Nehru University campus is going to reopen from today after nearly six months (closed since April). As part of the decision to open the campus in a phased manner, in the first phase, the doors of the department and library, and lab are being opened for all the students of final year Ph.D.

However, only those students are allowed who have 72 hours old RTPCR negative reports. They need to show their report to JNU security. Apart from this, students, teachers, and personnel from the areas declared as Containment Zone are not allowed to arrive at the college.

If any student disobeys the COVID-19 rules, then the fine, disciplinary action, along with other legal action including IPC (Indian Penal Code) 166 will be taken.

The JNU management has issued a notification late Saturday evening to reopen the campus under the first phase from September 6. It is written that the campus is being opened from Monday for the final year students of the Ph.D. program, especially those who have to submit their thesis by 31 December 2021. In this hostel and all local researchers will be allowed to come. To comply with the COVID rules, students will also have to fill up a self-attested letter.

From classes till the completion of the monsoon semester for common students, all the exams will be conducted in online mode as before.

The decision to open Central Library

The Delhi government has permitted to open the campus under the guidelines. However, not all students are being called because of the threat of the third wave. At present, only the final year students with research, the lab will be allowed. Apart from this, the library is also going to open with 50 percent capacity from next week.
