CBSE board exams 2021 are scheduled to begin on 4 May 2021, in which lakhs of students will sit for the exam. While the Central Board for Secondary Education has again stuck to its statement that the examinations will be conducted as per schedule, parents and students are now petitioning the Indian Government to terminate or postpone board exams due to the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
The unison has come against the government in Maharashtra that made the authorities promote students from classes 1 to 8 without them having to appear for exams.
There is a flood of tweets asking to terminate or reschedule the exams due to the sudden rise in COVID cases. Mexico – 1300 cases, Exams canceled. Saudi Arabia – 541 cases, Exams canceled. Kuwait – 1400 cases, Exams canceled. India – 82,000cases, Exams to be held as scheduled. Students Life Matter, says a popular tweet being publicized by parents and students. Why aren’t you taking any decisions respecting the 10th and 12th? Is giving ‘exams’ more valuable than ‘health’!! Even though most of us are not even ready for giving offline exams, asks Ruchika.
While a section of them are proposing the government cancel board exams, others are asking for the examinations to be conducted online. We can do it online because Bharat is observing a second wave and in this outline, anything that causes crowding must be prevented! Health must get preference over examinations, says a pupil of class 10th.

However, the CBSE Exam board has already made it clear that the board examinations will be starting from 4 May, and has also advised parents and students to refrain from believing in or publicizing news about termination or postponement of exams. There are some persons intentionally trying to create confusion about board exams by circulating old news of 1.4.20 respecting X and XII exams. Students should ignore this old circular of last year and not be deceived, says CBSE.
