Delhi University

Recently, the Delhi University has released the promotion criteria for the intermediate semester students of the postgraduate and undergraduate courses. Students will be passed to the next semester, as per the official notification released, even if they have backlogs, without appearing for the exams.

Except for the NCWEB and SOL students, this will be applicable to all the students. The official statement said that the students will be allowed to carry forward in the subjects in which they have failed in a semester/year and will be promoted to the next year.

The statement added that however, such students may clear the examination for the course in which they have failed/remained absent when examinations are held in the next year, according to the span period and the cycle of the semester. This means that for the course the students could not pass, they will have to appear for the exams in the next semester.

All students of the second semester or the fourth semester of carious undergraduate and postgraduate courses, as per Delhi University, will be eligible for promotion under this criterion. This, however, will only be a one-time provision because of the pandemic situation in the country.

The High Court had recently been informed by the Delhi University that it cannot release the UG results before the end of October because of a shortage of manpower. The varsity was asked by the court to inform about the percentage of answer sheets evaluated and the status of the integration of the answer sheets that were sent by the students both via the Open Book Exam portal and via email. The varsity has informed the High Court that more than 70 percent answer scripts have already been evaluated.
