With CBSE Class 12 board exam postpone, the admission process for undergraduate courses of Delhi University has also been postponed. The board exam of CBSE will be reviewed on 1 June and before that DU will not be able to take a final decision on its admission process. DU is becoming part of the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET) from the new session, under which admission is based on this entrance only
All the Central Universities across the country will be based on admission to the Common Entrance based on Common Entrance. For DU admission, 100% weightage can be given to the entrance exam. If cancellation of the CBSE exam then admission in DU can be done only on CUCET.
Prof. PC Joshi says that this can be done, but the final decision will be taken only when the CBSE board will make its decision. Prof. Joshi says weightage will also be included. we are focusing on two things.
DU is preparing for admission based on Common Entrance Examination in the new academic session 2021-22. DU acting VC Prof PC Joshi says that the admission process will be delayed this time too. Most of our students come from CBSE, so we will have to wait. We are doing UG admissions this time through CUCET, which will be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
We have decided to give 50% weightage to the entrance score and the remaining 50% to the 12th class exam. There will be exams of CB, so we would like to keep this formula. But if the exam is canceled then we have to adopt another method. On cancellation, CBSE will bring an assessment criterion and if it does not give us a clear idea of merit, then we can give 100% weightage to the CUCET score.
For example, if the results are made on the internal assessment, then there will be a difference in the marking of the schools and the results will not be made on a standard. We do not expect to compromise on quality. There is also the idea of taking scores based on percentile in place of DU entries.
The report of the UGC committee regarding the CUCET has been sent to the government and now the government is waiting for the notification.
