BA program at Delhi University: Colleges see a surge in admissions
At Lady Shri Ram College for Women, the cut-off for the BA program combination of computer applications and economics was at 97.25 percent in the 1st list itself. But, even at such high cut-offs, all the seats under the general category were filled. Also, by the third cut-off, seats under all the categories got filled.
Also, at Aryabhatta college, the majority number of admissions were taken under the BA program combinations in the third list. Hence, the combination of History and Political Science got very popular here. As per the admission convener, RK Dwivedi, a total of 74 admissions were taken on Wednesday.
Reasons behind the popularity of the BA program at Delhi University:
As per principals of several DU colleges, there are several reasons behind the rush for BA program at DU. Hence, one of the major reasons is sky soaring cutoffs of mainstream courses. Promila Kumar, the principal of Gargi College explains that many subjects had high cutoffs in the 1st list. Hence, students tried to secure seats by enrolling in program courses.
