The University of Delhi has started preparing for the possible third wave.  A statement released on June 23 said that it plans to set up Covid-care facilities, oxygen plants and make arrangements for continuous vaccination. The university has also declared policies to have agreements with organizations including pathological laboratories. This will boost three already established health centers.

The university said that colleges like Keshav Mahavidyalaya, Lakshmibai College, and the Health Centres of the university have made arrangements for perpetual vaccination even for the general public. Vaccination is currently deemed one of the most important steps to avoid fatality caused by the third wave, it added.

Regarding the Covid-Care facilities, DU said, Janki Devi Memorial College and Hansraj College have given their premises to set up Covid care facilities with 100 beds each. These capacities will also have oxygen supplies, an uninterrupted power supply, medicines, and facilities for food. DU will also provide compensations to doctors and nurses as they are in great demand but in short supply.
