VIRTUAL GURPURAB CELEBRATION IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS

The 551st birthday of Sikh Guru Nanak Dev Ji was celebrated as Gurpurab on Monday, 30th November 2020. The coronavirus pandemic resulted in the closure of schools and colleges in the country. However, various authorities made sure to teach the students the values of Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

There was a virtual celebration of 551st Prakash Purb in many schools and colleges.
Sanskriti KVM School was one of the institutions to give the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji online. The Principal, teachers, and students celebrated the auspicious occasion with devotion. They offered prayers while staying at their respective home.

The school organized some home activities for the students. The school music department released ‘Shabad Gayan’ which tied all in one thread of obeisance. The Principal of the school, Rachna Monga highlighted the valuable teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji in her message. She pointed out its importance in today’s world. She mentioned that the youth needs to curtail the values of patience, tolerance, honesty, and sharing. This will shape them into true human beings.

President of Arya Shiksha Mandal, Chander Mohan chanted strong prayers for the well-being of young and old. Students recited poetry, ‘Shabad Gyan’, and activities like declamation, slogan writing, poster and collage making were organized by the school authorities.

Next, the CT Group of Institutions, South Campus, Shahpur celebrated Gurpurab by reciting Sukhmani Sahib Path. The staff members recited it in a special ceremony. Their turbans and dupattas seemed to be dipped in saffron. The managing Director and Vice-chairperson Manbir Singh and Harpreet Singh respectively graced the occasion. Along with them were CT Group co-chairperson Parminder Kaur Channi and Tanika Singh.

Last year the institution organized plantation drives, turban tying, and ‘Virasat -e-Pradarshni at Sultanpur, Lodhi was organized for 12 days. It made to the Limca Book of World Records by making 550 vegetarian sandwiches said, Manbir Singh.

PROPOSAL TO OPEN 6 NEW COLLEGES IN DELHI

Lyallpur Khalsa College’s Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh gave a message on Gurpurab to all the students, teaching and non-teaching staff, and alumni. He said that the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji will help the people of today’s world to lead a life full of peace and meaning. He added that the teachings are still relevant and meaningful.

Highlighting the teachings of the Guru on his birthday he pointed towards an honest and simple life filled with universal brotherhood. He mentioned that the college instills the teachings of Guru of logical thinking and peaceful coexistence.
