India and Indians have witnessed three phases of lockdown till now. The first lockdown was announced on March 25 by Prime minister Narendra Modi and this was for 21 days. Later the lockdown was extended two times.
Till now the nation has survived 53 days under complete lockdown and the current phase of the lockdown is set to end on May 17.
As per the speculations, the sources and even by an analysis of the current situation this third phase of the lockdown is expected to get extended till May 30. There might be considerable relaxations even in the areas which fall under green and orange zones.
The current phase is set to end tomorrow that is on May 17.
The situation is much worse in the united states when it comes to the count of those affected or dead.
The US has recorded 1680 fatalities due to the coronavirus in just the past 24 hours.
This huge no. has brought its grim to 87,439. These numbers are according to the real-time tally by Johns Hopkins University.
Proposals have been sent by several state governments to the center for Covid-19 lockdown 4.0. States have urged the center to allow interstate travel in addition to the easier movement in non-containment zones.
They have even put forth the proposal to allow movement in sectors like tourism and hospitality so that the work can be restarted to revive the economy.
On Monday, the Prime minister had said that suggestions will be considered from the states to formulate guidelines regarding the fourth phase of the lockdown. This next phase will begin on May 18 and this phase is expected to last till May 30.
As PM has already mentioned in his last address to the press and the citizens that there will be certain changes in the next phase in comparison to the earlier ones. Center might also give little flexibility to the states while formulating fresh lockdown guidelines.
As per the officials Punjab has recommended eliminating the zoning system which includes marking zones as per the severity of the containment in those areas.
The state wants that all activities should be permitted in non-containment areas.“We have also suggested that all public transport buses should run and shops, except malls, be allowed to open,” said an official on condition of anonymity.
The state is in favor of extending the lockdown till May end, added the official.
