The UP government has proposed to the Central government to open Sainik schools in all divisional headquarters in the state. The proposal plans to be implemented all over Uttar Pradesh.
The spokesperson said that the maximum number of Sainik Schools are in Uttar Pradesh. There are 31 Sainik Schools all over the country operated by the Defense Ministry with one each in Manipur, Jhansi, and Amethi.
Further, the official said that apart from the places where Sainik schools are already established, one Sainik school is proposed in Baghpat. Another one is run by Uttar Pradesh Government in Lucknow.
Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman proposed in the Union Budget presentation of 2021 to establish over 100 Sainik Schools in the country. This UP-government plan to establish schools in divisional headquarters came after this announcement.
The official spokesperson while talking about the plan said that the schools will provide quality education at a reasonable fee. This will benefit the students in the state. If the Central government gives nod to open the schools then more and more students will get the opportunity to study and prosper.
The spokesperson said that it will be a huge impetus for the education system of Uttar Pradesh.
The Union Budget 2021 also mentioned the establishment of the Higher Education Commission and a central university in Leh as per the proposals by the Finance Minister.
