UGC will carry the preparations for the same and will declare them in the following weeks.

The educational institutes with grade 3.01 can do the same if they receive a nod from the respective authority.

With the University Grants Commission to shortly declare the statutes for the institutes, on imparting education, institutes with NAAC grade 3.26 or above are allowed for full-fledged online course conduction.

The commission has completed the regulations and the same had been sent to HRD Ministry and Law Ministry for vetting.

Once, all the regulations have been granted, it would be easier for varsities to begin the next session. The classes will be conducted on online mode from November onwards.

The institutes with a rating of 3.26 or more will only have to give coercion about the courses they wish to start. And those with a 3.01 rating can begin after seeking the required permission.

When the regulations would be announced, there may be a preliminary cap of online degrees universities that may ensure quality.

After the outburst of the pandemic, Human Resource Development (HRD) Ministry has been emphasizing on online education.

In the Union Budget, Nirmala Sitharaman declared that the top 100 educational institutes under the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) will be given permission for full-fledged programs online. Also, this indicates that the government started focusing on online education. This will have a large scale benefit, particularly to the deprived section of the society.
