The University Grants Commission or UGC discloses a new guidance document on Tuesday. The document titled Good Academic Research Practices will give the general framework for strengthening research integrity by focusing on good practices and potential threats.
Vice-chairman of the UGC, Dr. Bhushan Patwardhan, started that the guidance document will be helpful. There is a requirement for improving the norms of academic integrity, just as the nature of research. Dr. Bhushan has played a vital role in the endeavors against predatory journals.
The knowledge partners of the documents are Clarivate- Web of Science, indexes, and select the world’s most influential scholarly literature across all domains.
The document will deal with aspects including planning, research design, documentation, data storage, and research execution. It will also talk about falsification, misrepresentation, how to check for plagiarism, fabrication, mentoring the next generation, and selecting the right journal for publication.
