University of Delhi released the first cutoff list of various colleges for admission to UG courses for the academic session of 2020-21 on Friday. The admission procedure will begin from today i.e. 12 October 2020.

Students were given an entire day on Sunday to thoroughly analyze and go through the cut off lists and then make an informed choice of the course and the college as per their score in the board exams.

The University has received 353,153 applications for 70,000 seats in almost around 45 colleges under the varsity.  And the cut off this year have seen a maximum of 100% in Lady Shri Ram College for three of its course. Others are also close by around 99.75% adn similar.

The admission process this year will be conducted in a completely online mode making it entirely contactless. Varsity informed that they have been trying to take the admission procedure online for the past few years and they had even conducted an online entrance exam last year in order to test the online process. This year owing to the COVID-19 pandemic situation this entirely online method was brought into being.

HOW TO GO BY ONLINE ADMISSION ON THE PORTAL?

Applicants are supposed to log in to the university portal. Once logged in, the home screen will display the cut-off lists and the application details along with.

Applicants then need to select the college and course of their choice keeping the cutoff and their board percentage in conjunction.

Officials have also informed that the students must ensure that they make an appropriate choice of the college or the course as only one application will be allowed under each cut off list.

There will also be a suggestive calculator for the ease of students to help them ascertain the eligibility criteria for various colleges. A reference number will be allotted to each student which will help them in tracking the status of their application. Colleges will directly intimidate the students in ned/ requirement of further details or any document.

Students can pay the fee once the document verification id done and the application is approved by the college. The application window will be open till 14 October 2020 and the student securing admission under the first cutoff list must submit the fees by 16 October 2020.
