Uday Samant, the Higher and Technical Minister visited Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU) on Tuesday. He said that all the state universities are equipped to cancel exams for final year students in the coming weeks.
He said that if any student is not able to appear for the exam or fails in it, the administration will give him/ her another chance to appear for the exam.
UDAY SAMANT REPORTS ON COVID 19
Samant tweeted on 29 September about his positive report of coronavirus. On October 4, he tweeted again stating that his reports are negative this time. So, he visited to Savitribai Phule Pune University(SPPU) to check the preparation of the university to conduct online-offline exams of final year students.
UDAY SAMANT ADDRESSED A PRESS CONFERENCE
He addressed a press conference after the visit to the university. So, the Director of Higher Education Dhanraj Mane, SPPU Registrar Prafulla Pawar, and the director of examinations and evaluation Mahesh Kakade were present in the press conference.
UDAY SAMANT DISCUSSED ABOUT PREPARATIONS FOR CONDUCTING EXAMS
Uday Samant said that all other state universities already completed their preparations for exams. Only a few universities are facing technical issues. However, the minister said that they will ensure no student faces any problem. Two Lakh students will appear for online exams and fifty thousand students will appear for offline exams at Pune University. Now, the state is under the Disaster Management Act. To coordinate between the administrations of Ahmednagar, Pune, and Nashik an administrative cell is set up at the University.
UDAY SAMANT EVALUATED ONLINE CLASSES FOR STUDENTS
The minister said that the government shut down all the colleges of the state. So, students and universities should get prepared for online classes in 2020. He also evaluated online classes for new students. The administration will look after the examinations and assessments accordingly.
MANY STUDENTS AND OTHER MEMBERS CAME TO MEET UDAY SAMANT
A number of students, staff, and other members of college management came to meet the minister at SPPU over several issues. So, nobody followed social distancing norms accurately in the hall at SPPU.
