Haryana Government has taken an initiative to provide free books (monetary support) to those studies who are studying in state-run colleges and belong to scheduled castes. This statement was released by the government officials on Wednesday.
Quoting a spokesperson of the higher education department, on behalf of the department director-general, an official said that all the government colleges and their principals have been directed about the same. Authorities have been intimated about the need to verify and update the data of all those students belonging to the scheduled caste category aspiring/ receiving assistance and monetary support for study material or books in the year 2020-21. Government Colleges will have to verify and update that data on the ERP-portal of the college by 29 January 2021.
Following are mandatory to be verified before the monetary support:
- student’s SC class certificate,
- Haryana resident certificate,
- Aadhaar number

Students will receive the sum of money allocated under this initiative for the purchase of books directly in their accounts post the authentification of the details provided by them.
To cater to the requirement of the colleges for a robust database, this ERP-portal has been designed.
