The oversight committee approved the syllabus of four subjects, Political Science, History, English, and Sociology of Delhi University. A meeting took place on Thursday to approve the syllabus of these four subjects.
Delhi University is all set to begin the classes of intermediate students from August 10. The syllabus criteria of all the courses were finalized except four courses: Political Science, Sociology, History, and English. This was a barrier for the respective courses as they did not have any proper curriculum but classes are going to start. The syllabus of the third and fifth semesters was passed to the committee for approval.
TEACHERS WERE STRESSED ABOUT HOW CLASSES ARE GOING TO BEGIN WITHOUT CONFIRMED SYLLABUS
Delhi University held a meeting with the oversight committee and approved the syllabus of all the four courses. They further suggested that students should get Hindi translations whenever they needed one. Teachers were stressed about how classes are going begin as the syllabus was not yet finalized.
THE MEETING WAS CONDUCTED ON THURSDAY
The professors of English and Political Science Department of Delhi University reminded the committee to approve the syllabus. The meeting was going to hold either on Monday or Tuesday. On Thursday, the oversight committee held the meeting and approved the syllabus. The Chairman of the oversight committee said that the syllabus is approved.
STUDENTS SHOULD GET HINDI TRANSLATIONS AS WELL
The committee recommended the departments of avail Hindi translation for respective subjects like History, Political Science, and Sociology. The Department should arrange for translations for the students to access it. Last year, the right-wing teachers said that the curriculum was ‘pro-left’. A lot of problems were faced regarding the syllabus of these subjects. The executive council referred to the syllabus of four subjects of the first semester. Then, it was submitted to the oversight committee who approved it.
