Delhi University is reopening from 17th February 2022, but the outstation final year students are in a big dilemma. Hence, many of these Delhi University outstation final year students are not in favor of offline classes. They have a view that for such little college time left, there is no need for them to come to Delhi as accommodation and transport are expensive. So, a hybrid mode of education is what they demand.

Considering all the constant requests and protests of DU students, the varsity has finally decided on 9th February 2022 that they will reopen on the coming 17th. Hence, all the UG and PG students in all Delhi University colleges have to join the campus soon. After a shutdown of 2 years, students will be finally seen in DU colleges.

What is the demand of DU outstation final year students?

The Delhi University outstation final year students are worried as their exams are around the corner and their semester is at its end. Hence, there it is unnecessary that they give extra time in making new living arrangements.

Hence, a protest is ongoing for a hybrid mode of education. A petition addressing the VC, registrar, and proctor is ongoing at change.org. Thus, around 40,000 students have already signed it favoring a hybrid mode. This petition was started by Kalyani AP who stated that their voices are suppressed amidst all the excitement of DU reopening. Her staunch argument is that all DU outstation final year students have an option to study online.

Also, all this accommodation expense for just 2 months is taking a toll on students financially. Many students have even taken up jobs to support their families in their hometowns. So, the possibility of coming back is very less for them.
