On12th March, under the provisions of the epidemic disease, Act 1897, the government took this step to close all the educational and commercial institutions. Also, nobody was allowed to enter or exit from the country. Their visas were suspended and the state government took various measures to eradicate the spread of coronavirus.
At that time, there was no vaccination and social distancing was the only way to eradicate the spread of this disease. Only the government hospitals were treating the persons with COVID positive reports. A person who would be COVID positive was transferred to some hospital and was in quarantine for at least 14 days.

India adopted a policy of breaking the chain of transmission at that time. The National Institute of virology released a test kit for rapid testing of coronavirus. People were trying to generate some vaccination for this disease. Talking about the commercial establishments, the Chief Minister of Delhi Arvind Kejriwal ordered the closure of all the restaurants by 31st March 2020.
Proceeding further on 20 March, all the restaurants were shut down in Lucknow as well. Only the vegetable grocery and medicine shops were allowed to open. Different sectors were affected differently. Due to this nationwide pandemic, India is one of the most affected countries. During this global pandemic, although the lockdown was imposed for some days only but it was continued for several months. At a time, India ranked at the second position with the highest number of cases in the world.

The Indian economy was declining day by day. So, the government did not have any option other than restricting the nation in a phased manner. During the first quarter of the fiscal year, the gross domestic product of India declined by 23.9% and this led to a sudden shutdown of businesses industries, and different services. UNEMPLOYMENT IN THE NATION
They faced unemployment because 21 million employees lost their job from April to August. Many employees did not get their salaries for a few months. If we look at the survey of the center of monitoring Indian economy, there were 65 million people who were salaried out of 86 million people. India was in a vulnerable state in the first two months of the lockdown. Also, the suicide rate was increased.

The Prime Minister of India seized the services of Metro rail. After March, it was under operation from 7th September and that was also with certain rules and guidelines. During the shutdown of Metro services, this service faced a huge revenue loss. When the Metro was regulated after the lockdown it had different rules and guidelines. First of all, people were not allowed to sit and gather at a place in a Metro. Alternative seats were being used by the passengers. A minimum number of members were allowed to travel in a Metro.
The Metro rail service used thermal screening of passengers to allow them to travel. They also took care of social safety norms along with sanitization facilities. They marked the respective places in the metro at which people were allowed to stand or sit. Usage of mask was mandatory.
