Tata Imagination Challenge 2022: Tata has invited college students of India and also Tata employees anywhere in the world to participate in the challenge. The challenge is to share ideas that can make the world better. The candidates can register only till 15 September 2022.
Further, Tata has clearly mentioned that suggested ideas can be beneficial for any field or world problem. For instance, participants can move their imagination towards saving the forest or eradicating major to minor problems in any business. Basically, a challenge is all about evaluating the problem and finding a solution for the future.
This Challenge also makes you eligible for Multiple leadership roles in Tata Administrative Services

Tata Imagination Challenge 2022- Eligibility
For college students-
- The students of both regular undergraduate and postgraduate from any course are eligible to register.
- Completed 10+2 schooling or equivalents from any recognised board.
- Further, applicants must have enrolled in a regular or full-time program of UG or PG in any university or college across India. In other words, applicants must be full-time students at present.
- Also, students must have taken admission to courses which are approved by UGC or AICTE. Or students can be enrolled in 1-year management courses by business schools.
- The student’s classes have commenced for the current academic session.
Besides educational qualifications, the participant must have a strong imagination and creativity power. The ideas should be valuable and effective enough to make a change in the world of business.
Now, on the contrary, the students are not eligible if they pass any of these criteria-
- Student classes have not started for the current year.
- Enrollment in distance or correspondence learning courses/programs.
- Passed-out students from college or who have completed their course are not eligible for the challenge.
For Employees or In-House-
- If you are a permanent employee of any Tata group company or Tata Joint Venture company (from any part of the world) then yes you are eligible for participating in the challenge.
However, employees are not eligible who are employees of Tata company but not a permanent part of it. Also, if the person is on the rolls of the JV partner of a Tata Joint Venture company, then participation is restricted for them.
How to register?
Interested and eligible people can complete their registration process in three simple steps. And, candidates should keep note of the last date which is 15 September 2022.

- Then, register for Tata Imagination Challenge 2022 and choose the track (students track or employee track as per eligibility)
- Now, begin the challenge.
What are the challenge phases?
The Tata Imagination challenge includes exciting rounds, there will be total 4 rounds as follows:
Round 1: Tata Brand Stories
In a 30 minutes quiz, you will be judged on whether you know the Tata brands well or not. The quiz will include 20 Multiple choice questions (MCQs) to test your knowledge about the Tata companies and brands. Do you know the Tata brand enough to clear this round? Further, the first round will start on 16 September (12 noon) and will end on 17 September 2022 (11:59 PM).
Round 2: Gamified Assessment
This is the round which is genuinely exciting as it will make you experience the gaming aspects. Here, the participants will get involved in an interactive assessment for 30 minutes. Moreover, the gamified assessment will be from 22 September to 23 September.
Round 3: Video Pitch
Now the candidate who got qualified in the previous round will have to give a video pitch of 2 minutes. Through the face-to-camera pitch video, the participant has to share their idea with 3 questions (Why, What, How) Title, Abstract and impact. Most importantly, the videos must be in .MP4 format, less than 10MB. Further details and guidelines will be shared through mail to shortlisted candidates. The video submission round will begin on 4 October to 6 October.
Idea Buddy Phase
After the third round of video pitch, you are added with a young Tata Leader. So that ‘Idea Buddy’ can assist in developing and polishing the candidates’ presentations for the next coming round. Furthermore, this phase will be from 17 October to 28 October 2022.
Round 4: Finale
Now it’s the final round and here you will take your ideas to the last stage. The selected finalists will have to prepare a presentation called ‘Elevator Pitch’ of their ideas. This will be presented to the panel of senior Tata leaders. Additionally, candidates have to give one more pitch called ‘Personal Pitch’ based on their life and career. It is worth noting, that it can be personal or virtual, the mode has not been finalised yet.

Grand Finale winners
The grand finale 13 winners will win a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh each, making it 26 lakhs in total accelerated entry into TAS, a visit to iconic companies, several voices, and discounts from Tata brands. Also, the grand finale winners will get access to Tata Tomorrow University, isn’t it amazing? Though, all the candidates will receive the certification of participation.
Top ideas of Round 1
A participation certificate will be given to the top scores of the first Round. Further, the participants who reach round 3 will get Tata brand vouchers and certificates of appreciation.
Popular Choice Awards
According to the Popular choice, the top 3 ideas among all the ideas will be chosen for prize distribution. In the 3rd round, voting will open for choosing the top ideas. Also, this system will be independent of jury assessments.
