Tamil Nadu government passed a law to bear the education cost of government school students. The government will bear all fees for professional education courses.

But, this will be only for those students who will secure admission under a new quota of 7.5%. Moreover, the DMK government of Tamil Nadu had created a new quota of 7.5% in engineering. It is for those students who completed their classes 6 to 8 in state government schools.

Moreover, Chief Minister MK Stalin while conducting the meeting handed over allotment letters. During which Chief Minister said that earlier DMK government also scraped the entrance system for admission in engineering. Moreover, he said that the state is in a fight to have a new medical admission system other than NEET.

WHY TAMIL NADU GOVERNMENT LAUNCHED A NEW QUOTA?

CM Stalin cited that 69% of students are from a rural background in government schools. The government wants to create opportunities for those students. Entrance exams were an obstacle for those students to study engineering and medical.

Students from such backgrounds could not approach private institutes for their studies. So, we have decided to bear the education fees for those students.
