The Jawaharlal Nehru University will organize a week-long Swami Vivekananda Youth Festival every year, officeholders said on Wednesday.
Several programs such as sports, cultural events, technical festivals, exhibitions, academic events. This includes lecture series, seminar, conference, debate and, discussions, which will be performed for students and prizes given to winners.
This would immortalize the messages, thoughts, and visions of this great son of India and spread the teachings of Swami Ji among the JNU community, particularly among the students, JNU Vice-Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar explained.
The JNU Executive Council also passed a resolution to constitute a commission to develop academic research programs on Vivekananda Ji.
A statue of Swami Vivekananda in JNU was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
