The Delhi University’s Campus Law Centre (CLC) on Saturday canceled the seminar. It illustrated the “unmanageable behavior” of the students a day after they faced off with the administration.
The seminar –Challenges to Indian Constitution– planned for Saturday at the CLC. It was with senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan as the main speaker.
However, the staff of law dean Usha Tondon on Saturday morning declared the decision of canceled the seminar. The CLC authorities had a face-off with all the students on Friday allegedly.
It was over the latter’s asking for keys to the seminar room to get it ready for the event.
When they were denied the keys, students tried to stage a protest. According to the conversation of the meeting of the Committee on Seminar as well as Conference Rooms Booking.
The cancellation is in light of the developments as well as the unmanageable behavior of the students. Since March 25 in the year 2022, read the notice issued by the dean.
Bhushan reached the venue but it banned students from entering it, said Abhigyan, president of the Delhi unit of the All India Students’ Association.

Thereafter Bhushan began giving lectures to the students in the place of parking. But the administration said him to leave, saying gathering is not allowed on the campus, he said.
The lawyer, encircled by around 100 students, lectured them outside the college premises, he said.
There is no independence of speech. The students wished to speak to me peacefully regarding what happened yesterday. But they said us to leave saying ‘ no one can do discussion inside the campus, Bhushan said.
Delhi University Proctor Rajni Abbi too said they canceled the seminar because of the row organized by students. We refuted the student’s keys yesterday. Because the students didn’t get keys one day before the event.
As it is against the rule. Yesterday they created a bluster as well as organized a protest. So this canceled the seminar and the Dean of the Faculty of Law published an order, Abbi said.
