STUDENTS CREATE APPS FOR WOMEN SAFETY AND STUDY NOTES

Two innovative students create applications for the betterment. Students create an app to find hidden cameras. Also,  they devised an app called ‘Collegiate’ which will make the syllabi and notes fall courses at one juncture.

Camera Finder is the application to detect the hidden cameras. A final year B.tech student, Faisal Javed made this application. This application will be helpful to maintain women’s safety in hotel rooms, washrooms, and changing rooms. Moreover, the application can detect cameras even during the night.

Camera Finder adopts two schemes to detect cameras. Night cameras use infrared light. And, due to this, night filters can be used to detect them. For other hidden cameras, the device utilizes a magnetic field. When the app observes a camera-like device, it makes a beeping noise, and reading comes on the app showing the percentage of likelihood that a camera is in the proximity,  he said, adding that the app has to be used along with “common sense”.

Another Jamia Hamdard Student of B.tech Computer Science devised an application called “Collegiate”.  With the help of this,  students can find all the notes, reference books, previous year papers, and topic wise resources under one roof.

The application is available both ways-  online and offline.
