Delhi University’s School of Open Learning (SOL), previously known by the name School of Correspondence Courses and Continuing Education, was established in the year 1962. Presently, it offers BA, BA (Hons), B.Com (Hons) courses at the undergraduate level, and M.Com and MA at the postgraduate level.

A student willing to apply for any of these courses may get the application form or the prospectus from the main center of School of Open Learning(North Campus) or from the South Study Center situated at South Moti Bagh, New Delhi. 

For admission in undergraduate courses, a student can also submit the application form along with the scanned self-attested copies of the required documents online through the official website of SOL.

A candidate is eligible to apply for the BA, BA (Hons) and B.Com courses if he/she has passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board as on July 1, 2020.

The admission in undergraduate courses is truly merit-based as per the percentage marks scored in +2 examinations.

The applicant must have scored the desired percentage marks to get enrolled for this program.

Any individual, willing to take admission in any of the postgraduate courses whether MA or M.Com, a bachelor’s degree in the relevant stream is required.

Admission in postgraduate courses are offered under two categories I.e., Entrance based and merit-based admission.

50% of the seats at the postgraduate level are filled through merit-based and the rest 50% is allotted based on entrance tests, group discussion, or personal interviews.

Undergraduate Courses Admission 2020

School of Open Learning offers Ba, BA (Hons), and B.Com courses at the undergraduate level. The eligibility criteria to enroll for the UG course is the completion of 10+2 with the desired percentage of marks. Admission in SOL is done on the basis of merit. The candidates fulfilling the cutoff as per the cutoff list published on regular intervals during the admission cycle are required to visit the college for document verification and seat allotment.

There are no criteria of minimum qualifying marks for the candidates of SC/ST category.  A candidate from SC/ST category is required to secure a minimum passing marks in 10+2 in order to be eligible for taking admission to the UG courses.

SOL DU UG Application Process 2020

A person willing to fill the application form for the desired UG course can follow the below-listed steps:

First, register yourself on the official website of School of Open Learning (DU).

Next, Log in to the SOL website with your registered ID and fill in all the required details in the application form.

Upload the required scanned copies of the self-attested documents and click on submit.

Pay the required registration fees online and download the PDF of the Application form submitted online.

Print the fee receipt and ID Card.

Wait for the cutoffs to be announced and then visit the designated SOL center if your marks fulfill the cutoff criteria and get your document verified at the center.

SOL DU MA & M. Com Admission 2020

School of Open Learning (DU) additionally offers postgraduate level courses such as MA and M.Com in various disciplines. Admission to PG courses are offered under two categories I.e., Entrance-based and Merit-based. Candidates have to meet the eligibility criteria as he’d their categories in order to enroll in any postgraduate course.

Application forms for the postgraduate courses under the School of Open Learning (DU) start in the month of August and September every year.  Students who graduated from any University other then the University of Delhi are required to give the entrance test conducted by the University of Delhi. Whereas students who graduated from the University of Delhi are admitted on the basis of their graduation percentage.

Important Information:

For candidates seeking admission in the M.Com course, direct admission will be given on the basis of marks of eligible B.Com or B.Com (Program) / B.Com (Pass).

For M.Com, Marks will be considered by deducting 5% from the obtained marks, and admission will be granted on the basis of the merit list of the collective merit after making the deduction of 5% from the obtained marks in B.Com (Hons). and B.Com/ B.Com (Program) / B.Com (Pass) .

Candidates seeking admission in MA (Sanskrit) should obtain a minimum of 45% (40% marks for OBC and 35% for SC/ST/PH) in the admission test conducted by the University and admission will be done according to the merit list on the basis of availability of seats.

The candidates with less than 45% (40% marks for OBC and 35% for SC/ST/PH) in the admission test conducted by the University can take admission in SOL/ Non-Collegiate on the basis of availability of seats.

Indian nationals settled abroad are also eligible to take the University examination at the Delhi Centre.

The application is also open to Indian Nationals who have settled abroad. Provided, Indian Nationals willing to take admission at the School of Open Learning (DU) can submit their application forms with other necessary documents.

Foreign Nationals residing in India are also allowed to submit their application for the admission in School of Open Learning.

SOL DU Postgraduate Application Process 2020

Application form/ prospectus can be collected either from the primary center at North Delhi Campus or from the South Study Center at South Moti Bagh, New Delhi for Rs 500 (INR 250 for SC/ST/PH) as the application form fee. The candidate is required to fill the application form and submit it to the center along with the copies of self-attested documents.

Photocopies of the necessary documents to be enclosed with the application form:

  • Application form with all the necessary details
  • Printout of the payment slip of admission confirmation fee
  • Two recent passport size photographs
  • Self-attested photocopies of Class X & I mark sheets
  • Self-attested photocopy of graduation marks sheets
  • Initial Provisional Certificate of Graduation for current year students. Pass out students are required to submit their mark sheet
  • Original Migration Certificate
  • Candidates from any reserved category are required to submit their Reserve Category Certificate
  • Original Income Certificate (BPL Ration Card)
  • Disability certificate (if required)
