Smart India Hackathon 2022: Education Ministry begins the registration process of the 5th edition of Smart India Hackathon of AICTE. The website on which eligible candidates can register is sin.gov.in. Moreover, the last date to register is 31 March 2022.

ABOUT SMART INDIA HACKATHON
Innovation cell of Ministry of Human Resource Development conducts Smart India Hackathon every year. Under this, students suggest solutions to problems. Further, ministries, public sector units, NGOs, and industries list the problems.
Further, for the first time, a hackathon was conducted in 2017. Till now, over 15 lakh participation has been done. Participation has come from more than 8,000 educational institutions.
SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2022: WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Eligibility to participate in the hackathon is- students from classes 6 to 12, graduate and post-graduate college students. Moreover, they can register to show their talent and problem-solving skills.

SMART INDIA HACKATHON 2022: SELECTION PROCESS
- Firstly, the hackathon will announce problem statements asked by various ministries, NGOs, PSUs, or other leaders from industries.
- Thereafter, universities and colleges will hold an internal hackathon. And, based on the participant’s performance, the colleges will shortlist the candidates.
- Further, a total of five teams and two waitlisted teams from the internal hackathon will shortlist for the next round.
- Then, out of five teams, four will be chosen for blocked PSs. Whereas, one for the student’s innovation category.
- After that, leaders of the selected team will submit ideas through college SPOC for the Smart India Hackathon 2022 finale evaluation.
- Finally, the submitted problem-solving will be evaluated to select winners.
