SITHARAMAN INAUGRATES FIRST 3-D HOUSE AT IIT MADRAS

The first 3-D printed house of the country has been inaugurated by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. This 3-D house, which has been constructed by Tvasta Manufacturing solutions, is situated in IIT-MADRAS.
Notably, Tvasta Manufacturing solutions are part of the new incubator of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs established at IIT Madras called ‘ASHA Incubator.’
This 3-D House is a 600 sq. ft, single-story home. It has a functional space which is comprised of a Kitchen, hall, and a single bedroom all of which have been designed and developed by the indigenous Concrete 3-D printing technology of the firm.

IIT-MADRAS also informed that the house was developed in collaboration with Habitat for Humanity’s Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter.
