Singapore students

2000 Singapore students will be trained by Delhi University in Indian Dance and Music. Hence, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed this week on 25th February 2021. Exactly, the MoU was signed between the Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS) and Delhi University.

The Singapore students will be trained in Carnatic and Hindustani Music form. Also, Indian dances and other art forms will be tutored. DU will be providing teaching staff of the 72-year-old access to the resources of its music department.

Statement of K.V Rao, SIFAS President:

K V Rao, President of Singapore Indian Fine Arts Society (SIFAS) said that India and Singapore have always cherished their integrated cultures. He said, “Music is a unifying force that brings people together.” Hence, he has always been in favor of Indian music and traditional learning.

Mr. Rao also shared his opinion in a discussion on – Challenges and Opportunities in the Changing Global Scenario. Hence, he holds the view that music provides peace of mind and a pause in life. However, in the post-covid-19 chaotic world, mental health issue has become a major problem. Therefore, music has the power of healing.

DU thrilled to admit new Singapore students:

Delhi University had organized an international conference on the topic – Traditional Music in Different Cultures. The conference was held on 25th and 26th February 2021. Hence, it was a two-day long program.

PH.D. STUDENTS CAN GET A DEGREE IN THE DU CONVOCATION TOMORROW

The DU collaboration will facilitate new SIFAS students, teachers, and the southeastern community to work together. Also, the SIFAS vice president says that they are thrilled about this partnership with DU.

NEP IMPLEMENTATION COMMITTEE PROPOSALS ON DU FYUP TO BE PUT BEFORE STATUTORY BODIES

Deepti Omcherry Bhalla, DU dean of the Music Department was also pleased to sign up for this collaboration. Hence, the DU faculty is excited to admit the Singapore students and promote Indian classical music and dance. Therefore, this cultural exchange will be beneficial for both Indian and Singapore students.
