The legendary actor of Bollywood, Rishi Kapoor died at the age of 67. Amitabh Bachchan, an old friend of him confirmed the news on Twitter, confessing that he is destroyed.
After fighting with leukemia In the last 2 years, veteran actor Mr. Rishi Kapoor died in Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital in Mumbai. His spouse, Neetu Kapoor was with him, during his last stage. The news was formally announced by Rishi’s elder brother and actor Randhir Kapoor, “Yes he is no more”.
A statement was made public by the family –
Our dear Rishi Kapoor passed away peacefully at 8:45 am IST in hospital today after a two-year battle with leukemia. The doctors and medical staff at the hospital said he kept them entertained to the last.
He remained jovial and determined to live to the fullest right through two years of treatment across two continents. Family, friends, food, and films remained his focus and everyone who met him during this time was amazed at how did not let his illness get the better of him.
He was grateful for the love of his fans that poured in from the world over. In his passing, they would all understand that he would like to be remembered with a smile and not with tears.
In this hour of personal loss, we also recognize the world is going through a very difficult and troubled time. There are numerous restrictions around movement and gathering in public. We would like to request all his fans and well-wishers and friends of the family to please respect the laws that are in force.
He would not have it any other way.

Being from a legendary filmy background, He was a born superstar. The pioneer of Indian Cinema, Prithviraj Chauhan was his grandfather, and he was the second son of Raj Kapoor. His siblings were Randhir, Ritu Nanda, Rima Jain, and Rajeev Kapoor.
His sparkling career started initially as a child actor in Mera Nam Joker(1970) and for his outstanding performance, he was given National Award. Bobby( 1973) was his first movie as an adult actor for which he was facilitated by Filmfare award in 1974.
In his glorious career, he did 90 romantic films between (1973-2000). He was rewarded Lifetime Achievement Award by Bollywood Industry for his outstanding contribution. He shared the screen with his partner Neetu Kapoor in 12 films. He has two children, daughter Ridhima and famous actor Ranbir Kapoor.
He entertained us with his superhit films like Amar Akhbar Anthony, Bol Radha Bol, Chandni, Karz, Housefull 2, Kapoor and sons, and so on.
The last film by Rishi Kapoor was ‘the Body’, featuring Emraan Hashmi. He also announced his next project, a remake of Hollywood movie ‘Intern’, in which Deepika Padukone was also going to be a part, but sadly It couldn’t happen.
His death has shocked the entire nation. All his colleagues, friends, and relatives are in deep sorrow. One day before, Irfan Khan’s death and the next day Rishi Kapoor, has disheartened the fans. Akshay Kumar, in grief, twitted “ seems like we’re in the midst of a nightmare…just heard the depressing news of #RishiKapoor Ji passing away, it’s heartbreaking. He was a legend, a great co-star, and a good friend of the family. My thoughts and prayers with his family”
Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi posted “This is a terrible week for Indian cinema, with the passing of another legend, actor Rishi Kapoor. A wonderful actor, with a huge fan following across generations, he will be greatly missed. My condolences to his family, friends & fans all over the world, at this time of grief.”
Prior to his death, the news of hospital admittance was approved by his elder brother, Randhir Kapoor. It’s true that he has been admitted to the hospital. He is in Sir HN Reliance Foundation Hospital. He was not keeping well and had some problem, so we admitted him early this morning,” Randhir had said on Wednesday evening. Asked if it was an emergency situation, Randhir said: “That’s why he has gone to the hospital. But I know that he will be alright. Neetu (Kapoor) is by his side.”
Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with cancer in 2018, and he received treatment in New York. Returning India, while in his visit to New Delhi, he was again hospitalized in February.
