Reservations in DU Admission

Delhi University is the most prominent and well-renowned institute of the country. The University of Delhi, tender reservation for the regressive classes of OBC, SC/ST and minorities. Furthermore, the university also held seats reserved for Wards of Armed forces, Kashmiri Migrants, Physically Challenged and foreign students.

Reservation of seats in Delhi University.

  • OBC- There is 27% of seats reserved for OBC category, with 10% relaxation on marks.

  • SC/ST- Candidates under the category of SC/ST reservation of 22.5% on seats and 5% of marks relaxation. For SC-15% and ST-7.5%.

  • PwD- For candidates under PwD category, there is a reservation of 3% for the students with 40% of disability. Candidates are obligatory to submit the medical certificate of not more than 5 years old with formalities stated.

  • Wards of Armed Forces- 5% seats are reserved for children/Widows of Officers, Folks of Armed Forces and Para-Military Personnel.

  • Foreign Students- 5% of seats are reserved for. Students from foreign countries are required to apply directly to the Foreign Students Advisor in the University.

  • Sports/ECA Students- Maximum 5% of seats are reserved for the students under sports/ECA quota, in every college of the University.

  • Kashmiri migrants- With up to 5% of reservation on seats in all colleges based on the courses, the Kashmiri migrants shall also have the 10% relaxation in the last cut-off marks that is currently fixed for the general category students.

  • Minorities- Some of the colleges provide 50% of reservation on seats for certain communities. Nevertheless, the reservations on PwD and sports quota are as same as offered in other colleges of the University and other 10% for other SC/ST candidates. SGTB Khalsa, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa, Guru Gobind Singh College of Commerce, Mata Sundri Devi College, St. Stephens College, Jesus and Mary College are some of the colleges to offer minority reservation.

  2. Is reservation applicable to the wards of all paramilitary personnel or only gallantary award recipients?
