The committee set up to set up the center was the Director of Cluster Innovation Center Prof. Deenbandhu Sahu, Prof. Retired from the Department of Geography, DU. RB Singh, Dr. Avitoli G. Jhimo of DU’s Anthropology Department. Committee member Prof. R. B Singh said that research on the new year will begin. He said that the Himalayan mountain range has great importance. Many rivers also originate from here. These rivers make the land fertile in the plains. There are rare herbs here, as well as it is also famous from a tourism point of view.
Till now, there is no Himalayan paper at postgraduate, and MPhil-PhD level at Delhi University. After the center is established, efforts will be made to start the paper by connecting it with other subjects. For example Himalayan Sociology, Himalayan Economics, Himalayan Geology, Himalayan Zoology, and others. This will also develop an understanding of this mountain range.
