Delhi University closed its UG applications portal on 31st August 2021. Thus, approximately 2.87 lakh students have applied. Also, a maximum of these students is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
The number of UG applications has fallen from last year. Thus, in 2020 the number of UG applications was 3.43 lakhs. Registration Portal was open for almost a month from 2nd August to 31st August. A total number of 4,38,696 candidates completed their registration process. Thus, this figure was declared on Tuesday, 31st August 2021 that was the last date of application.

As per the varsity’s data, the maximum number of UG applications came from Delhi, i.e. 1,15,928 applications in total. It was followed by Uttar Pradesh with 55,617 applications, Haryana (37,743), and even Bihar (16,704) and Rajasthan (11,562). Hence, these were the state-wise highest application numbers.
As for Board wise numbers, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) topped the list. Thus, 2.29 lakh applications came from CBSE-affiliated schools alone. Also, it was followed by the Board of School Education Haryana with 9,918 applications. Further, there is the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (9,659) and UP Board of High School (8,007).

Category wise UG applications:
The unreserved category witnesses the maximum number of applications, i.e. 1,65,574 in total. Hence, the reserved section fills the other 1,21,641 registration numbers. Thus, this includes 62,880 students from Other Backward Classes (OBC), 13,829 from the EWS section, and 36,842 scheduled caste students.

Within the unreserved section, 94,641 female candidates have applied. Also, the number of male applicants is 70,653. A total of 3 candidates are present from the “others” category this year. The first cut-off will probably release in October, 1st week.
